How to use WA Exporter
A practical guide to saving your own WhatsApp Web data locally
Install WA Exporter in Chrome and open WhatsApp Web. Link your account using WhatsApp's normal sign-in process. WA Exporter works with information available in your signed-in browser session; it cannot unlock unavailable messages or bypass account permissions.
1. Save a conversation
Open the conversation you want to keep, click the WA Exporter icon, and choose the export action. Select the file format offered by your plan and an available date range, then start the download. The free plan includes up to three successful single-chat TXT exports per day. PRO offers additional formats and multi-chat options.
For a longer conversation, allow time for WhatsApp Web to load the history you need. Review the resulting file before relying on it as an archive: messages or media that have not loaded or are no longer accessible may not appear in the export.
2. Choose the file that suits your task
- TXT gives you a simple, readable record of messages.
- PDF is suited to reading or printing a conversation.
- CSV is useful for working with structured export data in spreadsheet software.
- HTML creates an archive you can open in a browser.
- ZIP packages chat text files from a multi-chat export.
- vCard is intended for importing available contact details into a compatible address book.
Formats and options vary by feature and plan. An export is an external file, not a WhatsApp backup that can be restored into the app.
3. Export visible contacts or group members
Open WA Exporter's full interface while signed in to WhatsApp Web, choose the available contacts or group-member export option, and select the relevant scope. PRO can save visible information as CSV or vCard, subject to the fields and members actually available in your session.
Phone numbers and group membership are personal information. Export only data you are authorized to access and process; obtain any necessary permission before importing it into another system or contacting people outside WhatsApp.
4. Work with several chats or a specific time period
For PRO multi-chat exports, select the conversations you need before starting. Use a preset range or the custom date controls to narrow the records you save. Large exports can take time because older messages may need to load first. If an export is interrupted, use the resume feature where supported.
5. Manage your plan or change devices
To cancel or change billing, visit Manage PRO and open the payment provider's authenticated customer portal. To move your license to another computer, use the extension's Deactivate action first; device deactivation does not cancel your subscription.
Privacy and troubleshooting
WA Exporter processes message and contact export content locally in your browser. Subscription checkout and license management are separate and do not require your chat files. To report an issue, send the extension version, Chrome version, selected feature and the error you encountered, but remove phone numbers, private messages, full license keys and payment details from screenshots.
